My story
Two decades at the bedside, then something deeper
For over twenty-one years, I worked as a Registered Nurse. I sat beside people at their most vulnerable — the late-night shifts, the hard diagnoses, the moments where medicine did everything right and something still felt unfinished. I learned early on that healing is never only physical. The mind carries its own weight, and sometimes that weight is the trickiest thing to set down.
Over the years, I watched patients and coworkers wrestle with anxiety, stress, sleep, and habits that no pill or procedure could quite reach. I saw how much of what holds people back lives beneath the surface, in patterns of thought and feeling that willpower alone simply cannot touch. Nursing taught me to care deeply. It also left me searching for something that could reach those deeper layers — something gentler, something that worked with the mind rather than around it.
That search led me to hypnotherapy, and what drew me in was how genuinely kind it is. No forcing, no overriding, no drama — just a calm, focused space where the mind feels safe enough to let old patterns soften and shift. I trained through Mindlayers and became certified as a hypnotherapist. Now I bring that work to people all across North Carolina, in person at my Bear Creek practice and online across the state, and I honestly love every minute of it.
